The Flying Fox is a portable remote control towing system for making discharge measurements with ADCP tethered boats on a temporary span of rope.

The weatherproof remote control with backlit LCD displays transect speed (user adjustable from 0 to 0.5 m/sec [0-1.6 ft/sec]), distance traversed, wireless signal strength, voltage & current draw while operating, and battery voltage. Other features include visual low battery warning with audible beeper, rope tension setting, quick swap battery compartment, and led status lights. Includes wall charger and weatherproof carry case.
